Pelligrino – Riserva 2000 – Marsala Virgine

Pelligrino – Riserva 2000 – Marsala Virgine

The nose is fruity, fresh, relatively discreet and needs some work in the glass to reveal itself. It reveals notes of dried kumquat, dried orange and small notes of mandarin, associated with touches of dried mirabelle plum, hints of flowers, orange blossom, as well as a discreet, almost acacia-like hint in the background, tobacco and a hint of fresh honey square. The palate is well-built, fruity, fresh, mineral, it offers a fresh frame, acidity and good definition. It also presents a certain intensity and concentration, notably in the aromatics and a lovely tannic structure. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of mandarin, orange zest and small notes of flowers, combined with touches of fresh/juicy date, dried apricot, small dried fruits, as well as a hint of fresh hazelnut, almost apple cider and notes of walnut. Good length. The tannins are precise, mellow, elegant and well-stretched. Nice work on the oxidation and a hint of cocoa nib in the background.
