The wine has a bright pale ruby color. The nose offers a certain depth, precision and a beautiful concentration of fruit. It expresses notes of blackcurrant, wild blackberry, morello cherry, bigarreau cherry, as well as a hint of bird cherry. There are also light toasted notes (toasted hazelnut, a hint of fresh toasted bread), dried aromatic herbs (rosemary, a hint of mint), an elegant floral touch (peony, lilac), as well as a very delicate spiciness (liquorice, vanilla in the background, nutmeg) and chocolate. The palate offers a lively, racy, mineral (limestone) and tangy attack. It expresses notes of red cherry, morello cherry, blackcurrant, blueberry, bird cherry and cranberries, associated with notes of peppermint, liquorice, violet and lilac. The finish is quite persistent and sapid, with spicy notes of liquorice and nutmeg, as well as a good lemony bitterness of bergamot in the background, combined with the juiciness of red cherry. The tannins are delicate, but well structured, sapid and slightly grippy.
