Palladino, Barolo del Comune di Serralunga d’Alba 2020 – Barolo

The wine has a medium intensity ruby color with slight garnet reflections. The first nose offers an expressive minerality, with touches of limestone and dry stone. We then find notes of dried aromatic herbs (dried thyme, dried bay leaf, crushed bay berries, dried wild grass), associated with aromas of tangy red fruits (dried raspberry, dried cranberries, elderberries, bigarreau cherry). , with a sweet hint of wild strawberry), dried rose, as well as a very delicate spiciness in the background (liquorice, a touch of vanilla, ground white pepper, nutmeg). On the palate, the wine is straight, chiseled and lively, with a salivating acidity, a pleasant bitterness and a fresh and tangy fruity side. It expresses notes of fresh raspberry, dried cranberries, crunchy strawberry, red currant, bigarreau cherry, combined with notes of dried herbs (thyme, bay leaf, dried wild herbs), dried rose and fresh rose in background, with a fine spiciness (liquorice, nutmeg, a touch of vanilla in the background), as well as a racy minerality on the finish (limestone), accompanied by a slight bitterness. The tannins are structured and tight, but have a fine grain. Good control of tannic power and good length and balance.
