OVID 2014 – Napa Valley

The nose is fruity, elegant and offers finesse, power, a beautiful balance as well as density. It reveals notes of blue fruits, small notes of blackberry and touches of fleshy raspberry combined with slight touches of racy minerality as well as subtle touches of spices, a very discreet hint of sap, grove and an imperceptible hint of pepper (in the background). The palate is fruity, well-balanced, a bit aerial, elegant and offers tension, a beautiful complexity, power, finesse, fat, a beautiful structure, a beautiful precision, a beautiful freshness as well as a beautiful and silky matter. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fleshy blackberry, fleshy plum and crushed / fleshy cassis associated with small touches of raspberry, dark chocolate as well as slight touches of toasted oak, a very discreet hint of almond, caramelization and an imperceptible hint of grove. Tannins are elegant, a bit young and racy. Good length. (2022+)
