The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose is a little reserved at first and requires aeration. It then expresses concentration and juiciness in the aromas of crushed wild strawberries, raspberry coulis, red plum jam, crushed black plum and a hint of blackberry. We also find notes of peppermint, dried rosemary, dried bay leaf, a racy minerality (rock, dry stone), a gourmet spicy side (liquorice, gray pepper, ground clove, nutmeg), as well as a touch of cocoa and torrefaction (toasted hazelnut, coffee) and dried wild flowers. The palate is generous and concentrated, but straight and fresh. It expresses notes of fresh morello cherry, chocolate morello cherry, crushed blackberry, wild strawberry, crushed blackcurrant, black plum, associated with touches of roasted bouquet garni, dried mint, and a distinct, but enveloped spicy notes (gray pepper, liquorice, cloves, a touch of toasted vanilla) and hints of torrefaction (cocoa, coffee, toasted hazelnut). The finish is long, powdery, with gourmand notes of fresh tobacco, chocolate cherry and dark chocolate. The tannins are powerful, a little grippy on the finish, but fine and balanced by a salivating acidity.
