There are notes of pulpy boysenberry, crushed blackcurrant and more slightly purple plum combined with hints of liquorice, cardamom and fine hints of strawberry, blueberry and Cuben pepper. The palate is mineral, fruity, elegant and offers gourmandise, nice definition, a certain purity and richness in control/gourmandise. On the palate this wine expresses notes of pulpy/juicy blackcurrant, crushed raspberry and more slightly jammy blackberry combined with touches of blueberry, lily, fine hints of liquorice/zan as well as a discreet hint of almost star anise and spice. The tannins are precise and well conducted. Good length. Discreet chewiness. Sapidity and sweetness on the finish. Nice freshness and control. Nice balance in its richness and vintage.
