Niepoort, Redoma 2021 – Douro

The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose offers concentration and an enveloped spiciness. It expresses notes of black pepper, clove, morello cherry, blackcurrant, wild strawberry, raspberry and cranberries, as well as a touch of prunes and dark chocolate. The palate is fruity, juicy and airy. It expresses notes of morello cherry, tart red cherry, raspberry and cranberries with a good bitterness, associated with a touch of black pepper, blackcurrant leaf in the background and a hint of cocoa. The tannins have a fine grain and are slightly grippy on the finish, without being drying. The finish is tangy, lively and fresh, quite persistent. An accessible wine, fruity and light.
