Negretti 2015 – Barbera d’Alba Superiore

The nose is aromatic and offers a fine power and a fine richness. It reveals notes of wild red berries, cherries and small notes of Gariguette associated with small touches of nutmeg, flint and spices. The palate is fruity, well-balanced, slightly gourmande and offers a good definition, a fine suavity, a fine acidulous frame, a small juiciness, a fine freshness, a small concentration, a small minerality as well as a slightly tight grain. On the palate this wine expresses notes of cherry, ripe wild redcurrant and small notes of cassis, small fruits associated with small touches of flowers / grove, nutmeg, tobacco and very discreet hint of spices. Tannins are well-built. Good length. There are a very discreet hint of tonka bean, grilled / roasted as well as an imperceptible hint of caramelization on the finish / persistence.
