Nathalie et David Drussé, Leroy de Restigné 2022 – Saint Nicolas de Bourgueil

The wine has a bright ruby color with purple reflections. The nose is concentrated and offers juicy fruitiness. It expresses the aromas of morello cherry, wild strawberry, raspberry coulis, crushed blackcurrant, blueberry, as well as a pronounced but delicate herbaceous notes: hay, dried thyme, blackcurrant leaf. We also find notes of flowers (violet, cherry blossom) and a touch of licorice in the background. The palate is chiseled, tangy and offers accuracy, concentration and powdery, but firm tannins. It expresses notes of tart blackcurrant and red cherry, raspberry, red currant, a fine bitterness of cranberries, as well as notes of crushed raspberry, violet, wild flowers, dried grass and thyme in the background. The acidity is salivating and fresh. The finish is persistent and fruity, with notes of tart redcherry, crushed raspberry and a slight bitterness. The tannins are a little dry in the mid-palate.
