The nose is fruity and offers power, a lovely racy texture, depth and a certain intensity of grain. There are notes of blackcurrant, cardamom and, more lightly, pepper, combined with hints of wild strawberry, wild dark berries and fine nuances of graphite/camphor, sense of place/bergamot and vanilla. The palate is fruity and reveals juiciness, freshness, a nice acidic quality, minerality, tension, accuracy, depth, purity of fruit and a fine chalky side. On the palate this wine expresses notes of tart/juicy wild blackcurrant, small black berries and more lightly crunchy wild strawberry combined with hints of lily, black pepper as well as fine hints of light tobacco, a subtle hint of sense of place, and a discreet hint of mocha. Good length. The tannins are chalky and elegant.
