Mt. Brave 2013 – Mt. Veeder – Napa Valley

The nose is fine, aromatic, racy, nicely built, elegant, gourmand and offers a slight richness as well as a slight intensity. It reveals notes of crème de cassis, strawberry, raspberry and plum associated with slight touches of blueberry, spices as well as subtle touches of gray pepper. The palate is fruity, well-balanced, racy, suave and offers a beautiful juicy / acid frame, a slight minerality, gourmandise, a nice depthness, a beautiful definition, a beautiful juiciness, a nice tension, a slight straightness as well as a beautiful and silky matter. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fleshy / juicy blackberry, cassis and crunchy / juicy blueberry associated with slight touches of raspberry, fleshy / juicy red berries, discreet touches of mocha, caramelization, almond as well as an imperceptible touch of bell pepper (in the background) and subtle / discreet touches of sweet spices. Tannins are fine and slightly firm. Good length.
