(Merlot) On the nose, the wine is smooth and textured, but reserved and requires aeration. It then expresses the notes of red plum, black plum, morello cherry, wild strawberry, associated with the freshness of liquorice, menthol and eucalyptus, as well as the gourmandise of cocoa, chocolate, toasted hazelnut and morello cherry in chocolate. We also find aromas of bay leaf, rosemary, Mediterranean herbs, as well as a touch of pepper and minerality (limestone). The palate is precise and vertical, with nice acidity and a filling finish. It expresses the flavors of black plum, red plum, wild strawberry, cranberries and prunes, associated with a mineral framework (limestone), herbaceous freshness (bay leaf, rosemary, mint, eucalyptus), savoury notes of spicies and chocolate (liquorice, white pepper, dark chocolate, cocoa, a hint of vanilla), as well as a floral bouquet (violet, iris). The tannins are firm, but fine. The finish is salivating and fresh, with precision and a good persistence with the notes of cocoa.
