The nose is fruity and reveals a certain elegance. There are notes of crushed cherry, vanilla and, more slightly, crushed violet plum, combined with hints of toast, violet, as well as fine hints of star anise and a subtle hint of liquorice. The palate is fresh and balanced, offering minerality, freshness, tension, smoothness, some richness (in the background) and energy. On the palate this wine expresses notes of pulpy blackcurrant, crushed violet plum and more lightly violet combined with hints of liquorice/badian, candied strawberry as well as fine hints of tonka bean, toasted almond, gunflint/flint and a discreet saline edge. The tannins are fine and very discreetly tight.
