Moinoterra Winery Vilana – 2023, Crete

The wine has a beautiful straw color. The first nose is fresh, with a very Riesling touch with a flint/petrol minerality. The wine is slightly closed and requires a little aeration. We have beautiful notes of aromatic herbs like fresh thyme as well as sage which appear. The second nose opens with more intensity and still on petrol touches with good freshness and hints of fresh green apple. The palate is fresh with good acidity. We have notes of apple, almond as well as green plum with a fresh powdery minerality. The finish has a slight sapidity with still a note of fresh almond or even fresh hazelnut. The salivating, almost saline acidity continues, reminiscent of a limestone terroir. This wine is to be decanted.
