Mazzoni, Ghemme ai Livelli 2019 – Ghemme

The wine has a pale ruby color. The nose offers a certain density, a gourmand and juicy fruitiness. It expresses aromas of wild strawberry, red cherry jam, juicy morello cherry, raspberry and cranberries, associated with menthol notes of dried pine needles, liquorice (with a touch of star anise), nutmeg and dried mint. After aeration, we also find aromas of rose, macerated cherry in the background, dark chocolate with mint, toasted almond and a delicate mineral hint. The palate is savoury, with a tangy and slightly bitter attack (cranberries, a touch of grapefruit zest), and a lively fruitiness (tart red cherry, raspberry, strawberry, blueberry). We also find notes of sweet spices (nutmeg, liquorice), a touch of tangy cocoa nibs, as well as pine needles and dried mint. The tannins are firm, fine and structured. Good length with a salivating acidity.
