Mazzei, Fonterutoli 2021 – Chianti Classico

Mazzei, Fonterutoli 2021 – Chianti Classico

The wine has a pale ruby color. The nose is aromatic, juicy and fruity. It expresses notes of tart red cherry, juicy morello cherry, ripe strawberry, blueberry and crushed raspberry, combined with notes of menthol, peppermint, fresh rose, as well as a touch of dried basil and green olive. The palate is chiseled, tangy, fruity and juicy. It expresses notes of bigarreau cherry, cranberries, blood orange (in the background), crunchy strawberry, crushed raspberry, blueberry and fresh blackcurrant, combined with notes of dried basil, peppermint, fresh rose and green olive. The tannins are fine, but tight and a bit grippy. Good persistence on freshness and salivating acidity, accompanied by good bitterness.
