Masseria Piccirillo – I Calaia Casavacchio 2020 – Terre del Volturno

The nose is frank, fresh, elegant, deep and offers a voluptuous side, a certain elegant darkness and precision. There are notes of small black berries, crushed violet plum and small notes of small black fruits, mocha, associated with touches of small crushed blue fruits, a hint of roasted-elegant fruit, hints of graphene, sweet spices, a discreet, almost vanilla-like hint, delicate roasted, flowers (cornflower, saffron on the floral side), menthol and sweet tobacco. An imperceptible hint of fresh leather. The palate is fruity, well-balanced and offers juiciness, a tangy, juicy frame, good definition, suppleness, elegance, a racy side, precision, as well as a stretched yet delicate side. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of violet plum, small crushed blue fruits and small notes of roasted strawberry, combined with touches of Bourbon vanilla, toasted hazelnut, chocolatey, as well as fine hints of almost aromatic herbs, delicate spices, roasted, mocha and smoke. Good length.
