The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose is fragrant, spicy, gourmand and finely floral. It expresses notes of grated nutmeg, fresh liquorice, cumin, white pepper, wilted rose, cornflower, as well as a herbaceous touch (peppermint, fresh thyme, bay leaf), a sweet hint of dark chocolate and torrefaction (toasted, even slightly caramelised hazelnut), a minerality (dry gravel, graphite) and a fresh and tangy fruitiness (strawberry, raspberry, red cherry, cranberries, a hint of blueberry). The palate offers precision, juiciness, complexity and well-built tannins, a bit gripping, but fine. It expresses a gourmand fruitiness (dried red cherry, a hint of morello cherry, cranberries, raspberry, strawberry), sweet spices (licorice, nutmeg), a touch of torrefaction (coffee, toasted hazelnut), dried herbs (bay leaf, thyme) and flowers (withered rose, cornflower). The finish is quite persistent, expressive, with tangy fruity notes (red cherry, blackcurrant, even orange peel), and a good bitterness. Nice acidity.
