The wine has a pale ruby color. The nose offers an open and juicy fruity material (wild strawberry, crushed raspberry, morello cherry, red cherry, a hint of fresh cherry). It also expresses expressive spicy notes, especially after aeration (liquorice, even star anise, crushed cardamom), associated with touches of fresh pine bark, even sap, wild mint, as well as rose, peony, and a gourmet hint of roasting (toasted hazelnut, even a touch of chocolate and vanilla). The palate is savoury, with an expressive and spicy attack. It expresses notes of licorice, star anise, cardamom, a hint of vanilla, complemented in the mid-palate by notes of tangy fresh fruits (strawberry, raspberry, blueberry, red cherry, a hint of bitterness of fresh cherry and cranberries). The toasted and herbaceous hint returns rather towards the end of the mouth (toasted almond; dried mint), complemented by a salivating and lemony acidity (grapefruit, bergamot). Good structure of tannins, solid, firm, slightly dry, but wrapped in the fruity material and acidity. The finish is persistent and pleasantly bitter (coffee, bergamot).
