The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose is perfumed and offers depth, concentration and complexity. We find the aromas of juicy morello cherry, very ripe black plum (even prunes in chocolate), roasted red cherry, wild strawberry, blackcurrant, blackberry and raspberry coulis, associated with an elegant floral bouquet (peony, iris, rose, lilac), herbal notes (peppermint, dried tobacco, infused black tea, fresh sage and rosemary), spicy (nutmeg, liquorice, a very light hint of vanilla in the background), toasted (toasted almond, a touch of coffee, caramelized hazelnut and toasted wood) and chocolate (cocoa, cocoa nibs). The palate is savoury, chiseled, straight and precise, with a beautiful salivating acidulous frame and a firm tannin structure, with a fine grain. It expresses the concentrated flavors of black fruits (morello cherry, black plum, blackcurrant, blackberry), combined with a tangy red fruits (red cherry, raspberry), spicy notes (cardamom, nutmeg, liquorice, white pepper), floral (peony, violet, lilac), herbaceous (mint syrup, rosemary, lemon thyme, tea leaf, sage) and toasted hints (toasted almond, a touch of sweet coffee). The finish is persistent, tangy, with pleasant notes of cocoa nibs and a saline touch in the background, as well as light tertiary notes of dried tobacco on the aftertaste. An expressive and refined wine.
