The wine has a pale ruby color. The nose is fragrant and offers precision, a distinguished minerality, a savoury spiciness as well as touches of fresh and dried flowers. It expresses notes of rose (with a very subtle tertiary hint of faded rose), dried peony, lily (which appears in the second nose), a sweet hint of iris, gourmet spicy aromas (liquorice, nutmeg, vanilla in the background), a touch of mint chocolate, torrefaction (caramelized hazelnut), herbaceous notes (fresh tobacco, dried mint, wild thyme in the background). The fruity substance on the nose is fresh and juicy; we find notes of strawberry, crushed raspberry, wild blueberry, blackberry and morello cherry, as well as hints of chocolate cherry and plum in chocolate. The palate is savoury and fresh, juiciness and a pronounced but integrated spiciness. It expresses notes of red cherry in chocolate, raspberry coulis, dried cranberries, a hint of dried raspberry, combined with notes of cherry in chocolate, cocoa, cloves, liquorice, nutmeg, with a fine hint of torrefaction (toasted hazelnut, cocoa), as well as floral (dried rose, dried peony) and herbaceous notes (dried mint, fresh tobacco, dried rosemary). The finish is long, savory, gourmand and persistent: with notes of cocoa, dried herbs, a tertiary touch of faded rose, a fine and powdery texture of tannins as well as a refreshing acidity. Roundness, gourmandise and a beautiful structure.
