The nose is aromatic and offers a certain brightness, complexity, freshness and light pungency. There are notes of boysenberry, fresh violet and, more slightly, crunchy red berries combined with hints of iris/pistil as well as fine blackcurrant, discreet hints of bergamot, pepper and anise. The palate is fruity and offers juiciness, freshness, minerality, acidity, tension and a fine straightness. On the palate this wine expresses juicy/pulpy blackberry, fresh/juicy cherry and more lightly iris, pistil combined with a touch of rose petal, juicy/fresh blackcurrant, delicate hints of pepper, anise and spice. The tannins are finely marked. A fresh style that flirts with a subtle hint of maturity and a certain mastery of gourmandize. A smartly made wine.
