L’Extravagant de Doisy Daëne 2011 – Sauternes

The nose is spicy and offers complexity, power, intensity as well as a bright side. It reveals notes of sweet quince, jammy small citrus fruits and small notes of crushed apple associated with touches of lychee, nutmeg, roasted pineapple as well as a subtle hint of saffron, spices and an imperceptible hint of pepper. The palate is bautifully structured, delicate, elegant, well-mastered / full of precision, melodious and offers freshness, minerality, a beautiful spherical side of the fat, roundness, unctuosity (in finesse), a small aerial side in the approach, delicacy, a beautiful freshness as well as a beautiful finesse of the acidulous frame. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of sweet / tangy kumquat, tangerine marmalade and small notes of pineapple in syrup associated with touches of peach in syrup, crystallized lemon as well as fine hints of dried apricot, honey, spices, a hint of crunchy almond and a subtle almost nougat hint on the finish. A very beautiful wine, fresh and delicate.
