The nose is peppery, spicy and offers elegance and harmony. There are notes of wild blackcurrant, fresh wild blackberry and more slightly tobacco leaf combined with hints of clove, Sichuan pepper as well as fine spice and discreet hints of liquorice/zan. The palate is mineral with fruit, roundness, some fatness, a mineral backbone, a very fine creamy feel and tension. A bit tightly grained. The wine should be decanted. On the palate this wine expresses notes of pulpy blackberry, pulpy wild blackcurrant and more slightly fresh violet combined with hints of liquorice, pepper/berries, fine hints of fresh tobacco, clove and a subtle hint of cinnamon and varietal notes. The tannins are discreetly marked.
