Les Hauts de Smith 2017 – Pessac-Leognan

The nose is fresh, mineral and offers a juicy fruit as well as a fine power (in the background). It reveals notes of fresh/juicy cassis, fleshy blackberry and fleshy strawberry associated with small touches of toasted oak, liquorice as well as discreet touches of vanilla and subtle hints of flowers (in the background). The palate is fruity, well-balanced and iffers a good definition, a beautiful freshness, dynamism as wella s a crunchy fruit. On the palate this wine expresses notes of juicy blackberry, juicy cassis and more slightly crunchy strawberry associated with a hint of crunchy red berries as well as fine touches of toasted oak, tonka bean, cardamom and gravels (Graves)/racy minerality and an imperceptible hint of bulb (in the background). Tannins are well-built. There is a hint of coffee on the aftertaste.
