Named after the family’s ancestor’s hometown in Calabria, the Serra Pedace vineyard is a rocky, windy location. It’s these Italian roots that convinced this historic vineyard to experiment with Italian Varietals. It’s the first ever Aglianico produced in Walla Walla Valley, aged for 44 months in a combination of French oak and amphorae. Distinctive of the varietal, this wine is dense and concentrated with complex aromas ranging from diverse cooked black fruits, to damp earth, anise, and leather. The high and lively acidity holds up the firm tannins.
