L’Encantada, Domaine Del Cassou 1988 – Bas-Armagnac

(Brut de Fût N ° 15. Bottled : 08/2018. Bottle 181. 47.8%) The nose is fruity and offers a small power, a fine racy intensity as well as a small “frank” side. It reveals notes of candied orange zest, dried kumquat and small notes dried lemon associated with fine touches of green apple, a hint of pear as well as fine hints of black tea, Cuben pepper, citron and spices. The mouth is fruity, well-balanced and offers a slight acidulous frame, juiciness, a small tension, gourmandise, a fine grain, a fine intensity, roundness as well as precision. On the palate this Armagnac expresses notes of crystallized mandarin, dried kumquat and small notes of dried lemon associated with small touches of crème brûlée, pâtisseries as well as subtle hints of white flowers / elderflower, almond, a discreet hint of nutmeg and toasted oak. Good length.
