The nose is fruity, fruity and reveals pretty floral notes, fine concentration, a nice finesse of grain, a fine airiness in its relative concentration. There are notes of fresh/sparkling blackcurrant, blueberry and more lightly of bright dark berries combined with fine touches of bigarreau cherry as well as a discreet hint of graphite, a subtle hint of star anise, and a discreet hint of saltiness/pepperiness (in the background). The palate is fruity and offers freshness, acidity, positive bitterness, precision, finesse of grain, and some tension. On the palate this wine expresses notes of fresh/pulpy blackberry, fresh/juicy blackcurrant and more lightly violet, blueberry combined with fine peony, star anise as well as fine crunchy fresh red berry tips, a discreet sapiness, a subtle touch of tonka bean. Good length. The tannins are racy. A subtle hint of cocoa on the finish.
