Le Fonti di Panzano 2019 – Chianti Classico Riserva

(organic) The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose offers fresh fruity notes (crunchy strawberry, red cherry, morello cherry, crushed blackcurrant, raspberry, red currant), a gourmet touch of red cherry jam, as well as a savoury spiciness (notes of nutmeg, liquorice, cloves, white pepper), combined with a hint of fresh tobacco and delicate herbaceous hints (dried pine needles, dried mint, dried rosemary, thyme, bay leaf) and a hint of violet, cocoa and mild coffee in the background. The palate offers intensity and lots of flavors: we find notes of wild strawberry, raspberry coulis, red cherry jam, red chocolate cherry, morello cherry, crushed blackcurrant, associated with notes of dark chocolate with mint, liquorice, cloves, nutmeg, fresh tobacco and fresh flowers (rose, violet). The tannins are firm, slightly grippy and sapid. The finish expresses a salivating acidity, juiciness and gourmandise of fresh fruit, combined with a touch of chocolate, balsamic and crushed basil. A gourmand, airy wine, but concentrated and well constructed.
