The wine has a pale ruby color. On the nose, it is reserved and needs aeration. It then expresses the notes of aromatic herbs (even medicinal herbs): peppermint, eucalyptus, sage, thyme and rosemary, combined with a fresh and tangy fruitiness (bigarreau cherry, morello cherry), red plum, crushed blackcurrant, blueberry, strawberry, crushed raspberry), a fragrant floral bouquet (rose, even eau-de-vie de rose, peony, rosehip, violet) and a savoury spiciness (nutmeg, liquorice, star anise in the background, clove, a touch of toasted vanilla and cinnamon). There is also a touch of balsamic, black tapenade and fresh tobacco. The palate offers a gourmand and round attack, with lots of fruit and a jammy touch. We find notes of crushed wild strawberry, raspberry coulis, fresh raspberry, redcurrant jelly, fresh blackcurrant, morello cherry, red cherry jam and black plum, associated with notes of sweet spices (liquorice, star anise, cumin, cloves, nutmeg), flowers (rosehips, wilted rose, fresh rose petals, violet), with a herbaceous touch (peppermint, menthol in the background, thyme, sage), notes of chocolate and toaste. The tannins are powerful, but have a fine, melted grain. A salivating acidity brings liveliness and freshness to the wine and softens the fine, but grippy tannic structure. A complex wine, but seems closed at the moment.
