The nose is aromatic and offers elegance, some power, fine grain and depth. There are notes of ripe blackcurrant, violet and slightly camphor combined with hints of juicy/pulpy cherry, smoke, fresh pepper, fresh nutmeg and a discreet hint of mocha. The palate is nicely acidic, fruity and offers accuracy, acidity, gourmandise, good ripeness and a nice energy. On the palate this wine expresses juicy/pulpy blackberry, fresh/crisp blackcurrant and more slightly roasted raspberry notes combined with a touch of pulpy strawberry, violet, tonka bean, a hint of sappy, liquorice, spice and a touch of smoke and camphor. Good length. Lovely polished and mellow tannins. A subtle hint of saffron (in its flowery side). Fine chewiness on the finish/persistence.
