The wine has a ruby colour of medium intensity. The nose is reserved and needs to be aired. It offers concentration and precision: there are notes of black and red fruits (Morello cherry, blackberry, blackcurrant, wild strawberry, raspberry coulis, red cherry, crushed strawberry), sweet spices (cinnamon, liquorice, white pepper, star anise in the background), coffee, a very slight ferrous note of roasted meat and elegant floral notes of violet and blueberry. On the palate, the wine has a firm, slightly drying tannic structure, with a hint of positive bitterness. The flavours are frank, precise and acidic: the wine expresses notes of black and red fruits (raspberry, blueberry, blackcurrant, strawberry, redcurrant, dried cranberries), dried herbs (mint, thyme, sage), spices (white pepper, liquorice), a fine touch of roasting (coffee) and a good bitterness. The finish is persistent, warm and spicy, with notes of cinnamon, liquorice and dark chocolate. A wine of youth and firmness, to be kept for a few years.
