Labastide Dauzac 2023 – Margaux

The nose is nicely led, fruity, precise and offers aromatic depth, intensity, accuracy as well as a nice aromatic complexity. It reveals notes of pulpy/juicy raspberry, small pulpy red berries and small notes of juicy/pulpy blackberry associated with touches of cassis, a hint of crushed strawberry as well as fine floral hints, spices and a very discreet hint of pepper. The palate is nicely juicy, fruity, balanced and offers a tangy frame, accuracy, tension, gourmandize, a nice sapidity as well as a lot of gourmandize. Nicely led. An explosive and fresh side of the fruit. Nice tannic and sapid structure. On the palate this wine expresses notes of violet, fresh/bright cassis and small notes of pulpy/bright redcurrants associated with touches of juicy/pulpy cherry as well as hints of tobacco, cornflower, liquorice/licorice stick and a hint of salt. Good length. A nice little mellowness and sapidity on the finish.
