La Vérité – le Désir 2014 – Sonoma

Beautiful and mineral nose, complex, precise and that offers a multi-layered side, tension as well as a beautiful precise, clean and tense grain. It reveals notes of wild strawberry and pulpy small wild red fruits associated with touches of roasted-fresh blackberry as well as hints of nutmeg, soil (almost a rocky side) and discreet hints of almond. The palate is mineral and offers juiciness, tension, precision, a stretched/linear side (in the good meaning of the term), balance as well as a beautiful precision. On the palate this wine expresses notes of boysenberry, small black wild fruits and small notes of violet associated with touches of clove, tobacco, quite ripe raspberry as well as discreet hints of tobacco and a subtle almost truffled hint. Lovely sapidity. Tannins are sapid, elegant and almost slightly chalky. Beautiful chewiness on the finish/persistence.
