The nose is fruity, aromatic and offers power. It reveals notes of blackberry, cassis, wild red berries and more slightly raspberry, violet associated with small touches of Sichuan pepper, spices, gravels (Graves), caramelization, almond, lilac as well as discreet hints of vanilla and an imperceptible hint of nutmeg. The palate is fruity, aromatic, mineral, well-balanced, precise and offers a good definition, an acid frame, a good structure, a fine deepness, freshness, a fine grain as well as fat. On the palate this wine expresses notes of juicy blackberry, fresh raspberry, crunchy strawberry and more slightly cassis associated with small touches of zan, toasted oak, tonka bean, racy minerality/gravels (Graves) (terroir) as well as subtle/discreet hints of lilac (on the finish), tea and spices. Tannins are fine, slightly tight and very discreetly powdered.
