The nose is fruity, fresh and reveals a nice definition, complexity, finesse, racy power (in finesse), a lot of harmony, a fine tautness. There are notes of morello cherry, fresh red berries and more lightly ripe/crunchy blue berries, ripe blackcurrant combined with fine hints of star anise, sense of place, sweet blond tobacco, a fine touch of vanilla and toasted/fresh oak. The palate is nicely conducted and reveals freshness, juiciness, a nice work on the bitter taste as well as a nice stretched character, energy, a nice purity of fruit, gourmandize, volume, smoothness, a certain silkiness. On the palate, this wine expresses notes of roasted cherry, pulpy/juicy raspberry and, more lightly, small acidic/crisp red fruit, combined with fine hints of violet, blackcurrant, as well as fine hints of star anise, nutmeg, a discreet sapiness, toastiness and chocolate. Good length.
