La Fortezza – 2023, Sannio Barbera DOC

The nose is aromatic, fresh and offers a certain juiciness, intensity in the structure, a certain elegant austerity and a hint of pepper/spices. There are notes of wild cassis, juniper berries and small wild berries, associated with touches of red pepper, dry local grove, as well as a hint of tobacco. The palate is fruity, well-balanced and offers juiciness, tension, a good minerality, a tangy frame and a pretty floral side (in the background). On the palate, this wine expresses notes of juicy cassis, crunchy wild cherry and small notes of small juicy/fresh black berries, combined with touches of juniper berry, maceron, as well as a fine hint of pepper and dry local grove. Lovely, subtly firm tannins, racy and tasty. Good length. Persistence with a subtle hint of sappy (in the background). Lovely acidulous on the finish. Freshness.
