La Devise de Lilian 2020 – Saint-Estèphe 

On the nose, fruity, a bit tight and offers a certain gourmandize, subtle concentration, a certain depth/density and a bright fruit. It reveals notes of blackcurrant, bright morello cherry and hints of blackberry combined with nuances of lilac, lily, wild strawberry and hints of camphor, racy minerality, fine hints of cornflower, saffron, discreet hints of blond tobacco and a subtle touch of pepper. The mouth is fruity and offers juiciness, freshness, gourmandize as well as a certain (airy) richness, a nice fineness of grain, purity of fruit, roundness. The wine expresses notes of pulpy blackberry, creamy cassis and hints at pulpy/juicy raspberry associated with touches of strawberry, lily, almost iodized racy minerality, graphite as well as a touch of camphor, saffron, a discreet touch of toast and roast. Good length. The tannins are precise, well conducted and offer a fine mellowness.
