La Croix Ducru-Beaucaillou 2022 – Saint-Julien

La Croix Ducru-Beaucaillou 2022 – Saint-Julien

The nose is fruity, gourmand precise, with a certain intensity and a lovely stretched side, iodized, gourmandise and fine creaminess side. It reveals notes of morello cherry, roasted-elegant strawberry, and small notes of small crushed red fruits, chocolate/tonka bean, violet, as well as fine hints of tonka bean and a hint of fine smoke. The palate is well-built, supple, fresh, mineral and well-balanced, with a tangy frame, suppleness, nicely energy, depth and a lovely play on bitters. It expresses notes of morello cherry, small red berries and small notes of rhubarb associated with beautiful fresh floral touches, fine hints of infusion as well as discreet hints of cornflower, toast and hints of cocoa. Tannins are toasty, finely mellow. Good length. A nicely textured wine, with a certain elegant darkness. A hint of almost blueberry and camphor in the background. A hint of roasting on the finish/persistence. A nice sapid/saline side.
