Kata 2015 – Beckstoffer Bourn Vineyard – Napa Valley

The nose is fine, aromatic and offers power as well as concentration. It reveals notes of cassis, wild berries and slight notes of rose, violet, blackberry combined with a slight hint of crushed raspberry, touches of gray pepper, a subtle hint of caramelization as well as a very discreet hint of sweet tobacco and brown sugar. The palate is fruity, juicy, well-balanced and offers a beautiful juicy fruit, tension, a slight acid frame, straightness, a beautiful definition as well as a beautiful, silky and slightly dense matter. On the palate this wine expresses notes of juicy blackberry, black cherry and slight touches of juicy redcurrant associated with discreet hints of liquorice, tobacco as well as a subtle hint of tobacco and discreet hints of almond / hazelnut on the aftertaste. Good length and good persistence. There is a hint of liquorice on the persistence.
