Joseph Mellot La Chatellenie 2023 – Sancerre

Joseph Mellot La Chatellenie 2023 – Sancerre

The wine has a pale lemon yellow color. The nose is fragrant, fruity and gourmand. It expresses the aromas of stone fruits (white peach, yellow peach, yellow plum with a touch of mirabelle plum), as well as passion fruit, ripe lemon, crunchy golden apple, gooseberry and rhubarb, associated with an expressive mineral touch of chalk and flint and, a scent of white flowers (acacia, apple blossom). The palate is enveloping, gourmand, with notes of juicy and fleshy stone fruits (white peach, yellow peach, yellow plum), ripe lemon (with a touch of candied lemon peel), pineapple, fruit passion fruit, gooseberries and golden apple. We also find the racy minerality in limestone and flint smoke notes and a lively and salivating acidity. The finish is persistent, mineral and slightly bitter (good bitterness of grapefruit).
