Joseph Mellot Cuvée Geoffrenet Morval 2023 – Châteaumeillant

The wine has a bright ruby color, of medium intensity. The nose offers a burst of fruit, juiciness and a nice concentration. It expresses notes of juicy morello cherry, wild blackberry, tangy raspberry, as well as crunchy red currants and crushed blueberry. There is also a fragrant floral bouquet (violet, lilac, peony), as well as a hint of white pepper in the background. The palate is chiseled, fresh, juicy and fruity. It expresses flavors of tangy red cherry, raspberry, blackcurrant and blackcurrant leaf in the background, wild blackberry and red currants. The tannins are very delicate, powdery and practically imperceptible. Beautiful salivating acidity, the finish is persistent, fruity and lively. A slight mineral and bitter hint on the persistence. Lots of energy, liveliness and fruit.
