Jericho Canyon Vineyard – Cabernet Sauvignon 2015 – Napa Valley

The nose is fine and powerfull. It reveals notes of concentrated blackberry, crushed wild strawberry and touches of gray pepper combined with very discreet touches of violet as well as touches of dark chocolate, sweet spices and subtle touches of cardamom. and an imperceptible hint of Lapsang Souchong tea (in the background). The palate is fruity, well balanced, silky and offers a nice freshness, a mineral frame, roundness, a slight depth as well as a very discreet cremness (in the background). On the palate this wine expresses notes of crushed black cherry, crème de cassis and slight touches of ripe blackberry, fresh raspberry combined with a subtle touch of fresh red berries as well as discreet touches of dark chocolate / cocoa, wood and very subtle hints of almonds (in the background). Tannins are well-built and slightly dusty. The finish is relatively gourmande. Good length and beautiful persistence. (2021+)
