Istine, Levigne 2020 – Chianti Classico Riserva

(organic) The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose offers a warming spiciness (notes of licorice, vanilla, cinnamon in the background, white pepper, cloves), a ripe fruity substance (morello cherry, cranberries, strawberry, bigarreau cherry, raspberry, red currant, black plum) and a floral bouquet (dried rose, dried peony, violet), as well as a touch of fresh tobacco, fresh hazelnut and fresh oak in the background. On the palate, the wine is juicy, savoury and gourmand. It expresses notes of fresh strawberry, bigarreau cherry, morello cherry, cranberries, red currant and black plum, combined with a touch of fresh tobacco, basil, dried rose, dried peony and a fine spiciness (licorice, cloves, white pepper). The finish has an average persistence. Beautiful freshness, lively acidity, fine but slightly grippy tannins.
