Innocenti 2019 – Brunello di Montalcino

Innocenti 2019 – Brunello di Montalcino

The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity, with garnet reflections. The nose is warming (with a touch of cherry cherry at the beginning) and complex. It expresses distinct but pleasant tertiary notes (damp leaves, tobacco, a touch of leather and faded rose in the background. We also find an expressive spiciness (liquorice, nutmeg, black pepper, fennel seed, a hint of star anise), envelopped in a juicy fruitiness (roasted red cherry, fresh morello cherry, dried morello cherry, wild strawberry, black plum, a hint of prunes and blackcurrant), the spicy and tasty roasted side (toasted hazelnut, coffee, toasted almond, smoke) and herbaceous freshness (dried mint, rosemary, bay leaf, menthol, roasted thyme). The palate offers tension, sapidity and complexity. It expresses the flavors of fresh morello cherry, morello cherry in chocolate, roasted red cherry, black plum, blackcurrant and wild strawberry in the background, combined with delicate tertiary notes of tobacco, damp leaves and faded rose (less perceptible than on the nose), with a fine spicy hint and notes of torrefaction (liquorice, cumin seeds, star anise, black pepper), as well as refreshing herbaceous flavors (dried mint, rosemary, roasted thyme). The tannins are firm, a little dry and grippy, but powdery and chocolatey. The finish is gourmand, fruity and chocolatey, moderately persistent. Elegance and a certain power on the palate.
