The wine has a brilliant ruby color, with slight purple reflections. On the nose, it offers delicacy, depth, a slight sweetness, even a velvety texture. The nose is reserved, but refined and complex: it expresses notes of blackcurrant, crème de cassis, blackberry, morello cherry (even a fine touch of amarena cherry), raspberry jam and wild strawberry. The spiciness is enveloped and refined, not very pronounced: we feel the aromas of cumin, grated nutmeg, licorice (associated with a touch of star anise), vanilla, clove, as well as a hint of freshness offered by herbaceous and floral notes of wild mint, rosemary, violet and cherry blossom. The woody notes are very subtle (toasted hazelnut, cocoa, coffee). On the palate, the wine is ample and open (the attack is fruity and tasty), but fresh and straight. It expresses notes of fresh blackcurrant, blackberry, blueberry, morello cherry, wild strawberry and red cherry, associated with herbaceous and resinous notes (wild mint, dried pine needles), floral (cherry blossom, violet, rose petals) and spicy touches, which return at the end of the mouth (vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, cloves). The tannins are powerful, but have a fine texture, and are softened by a lively acidity. Good persistence in the mouth, long and complex. A wine to keep, elegant and silky.
