Il Poggio 2019 – Trasimeno Rosso Scelto DOC

(Merlot, Sangiovese) The nose is concentrated and juicy. It expresses distinct notes of black fruits (blackcurrant, black plum, morello cherry, bird cherry), combined with aromas of red plum and strawberry. There are also notes of roasted thyme and rosemary, liquorice and smoke. The palate offers firmness and good structure. It expresses flavors of blackcurrant, black plum, blackberry, bird cherry and morello cherry, combined with touches of dried blackcurrant, roasted aromatic herbs, dark chocolate and a good bitterness of cocoa. Beautiful texture on the palate, enveloping and pleasant, nice acidity and good persistence on the palate.
