Il Palazzone 2020 – Brunello di Montalcino

Il Palazzone 2020 – Brunello di Montalcino

The nose is reserved and requires aeration. It then expresses herbaceous notes (fresh thyme, rosemary, peppermint), a pronounced aroma of liquorice, even star anise, as well as notes of cardamom, a hint of vanilla, dark chocolate, as well as violet and peony. The fruits on the nose are fresh and juicy – we find in particular the aromas of blackcurrant, raspberry, blackberry, bigarreau cherry, moire plum and morello cherry. The palate is straight, tangy, with a good bitterness of coffee and flavors of black fruits (blackcurrant, morello cherry, black plum, blackberry), associated with touches of raspberry and bigarreau cherry, dried herbs (thyme, rosemary, dried mint), violet, peony and toasted almond. Good length, with a lively acidity and a good gourmet bitterness of cocoa, completed by a tangy touch of cocoa nibs.
