The wine has a ruby color of medium intensity. The nose is reserved and requires aeration. It then expresses notes of tangy bigarreau cherry, crushed raspberry, crunchy strawberry, juicy morello cherry, fresh blackcurrant, blueberry, as well as herbaceous notes (fresh rosemary, thyme, basil, wild mint, a touch of oregano), sweet spices (liquorice, vanilla, nutmeg, coriander seeds, cumin), fresh flowers (rose, peony, lily), as well as a touch of sweet coffee, dark chocolate and balsamic cream. The palate is firm and expresses structured and dry tannins on the attack, balanced by a salivating acidity and the juiciness of ripe fruit. We find the flavors of ripe morello cherry, wild strawberry, raspberry coulis, roasted red cherry, redcurrant jelly, combined with tasty sweet spices (liquorice, cumin, nutmeg, cloves), a herbaceous touch (wild mint, oregano, thyme, rosemary), floral (rose, fresh peony iris) and roasted (coffee, cocoa, toasted hazelnut), as well as a hint of tobacco and balsamic cream. The finish is savory and juicy. It expresses fresh acidity and the gourmandise of ripe fruit, which balance a firm structure of tannins. A wine with controlled power and good aging potential.
