The wine shows a pale ruby colour. The nose initially is very aromatic, dominated by notes of dried herbs, complicated by nuances of red cherries, cherry compote, a touch of peony, tar and iron. The palate is focused and precise, revealing crunchy acidity, bold and powerful structure, muscular, slightly drying, assertive tannins. Notes of orange peel, pine needles, rosemary, black cherries and ripe figs linger on the palate. The wine is still rather austere, needs time to show its full potential.
